shoreditch bars

east london’s shoreditch area has transformed into a centre for fashion, music, design and party culture. in the 90’s the area around hoxton square was well known for it’s innovative music scene. labels such as acid jazz, metalheadz and pussyfoot were born here. later the focal point developed in the direction of fashion, art and design. at the moment new bars are constantly being opened. the hoxton bar next to the lux cinema is an ideal location to meet friends. the bricklayers arms is an older pub where actual bricklayers came to drink way before the trend setters came in. the s.m.e.r.s.h. bar features northern soul dj’s. it specialises in absynth and eastern european shots for spies, eastern immigrants and the odd rockstar. cargo is one of the newer clubs in shoredich. in cargo there are ever changing dj’s, thai food and graffiti from uk sprayers such as banksy.
