luz ![]() the brasilian-japanese tattoo artist jun matsui is the undisputed master of tribal tattoos. he started working from his apartment with a couple of friends, because he needed some money. today people come from all over the world to the luz shop. you have to book six-months in advance. a tattoo as big as your fist costs around 30.000 yen. but most of the time matsui works on full body-tattoos, which have a long tradition in japan. those who get a full body at luz, belong to the so-called family. the family members like to chill out in the shop and café next door. luz opens daily from 12.00 - 20.00. jun’s tattoos are printed on t-shirts, too. ![]() ![]() luz public transport rail station omote sando COMMENTS Your voice on luz

"Towa really doesn't like interviews - and suggested to do the interview with his robot instead. It was a great idea, so we took his lookalike-robot for a taxi ride to our location. His plastic twin unfortunately doesn't move or speak yet though - but Towa promised he will tackle that challenge in the future too. "

"Cornelius is an amazing guy. And his studio might as well be a museum - full with figures and toys he picks up from Japanese toys stores that make the strangest sounds... and might end up in another track. If you listen carefully,m there are a bunch of unusual sounds on his track that came from toys. "
