in 1995 the former snowboard pro marok started lodown magazine. it began as a hip hop and skater fanzine. the lodown office is based in kreuzberg and produces five issues a year containing both german and english articles. each edition is a visual explosion and has short interviews with international underground musicians, extreme sports personalities and pop culture icons such as roy ayers, stash, nick nolte, crazy legs und angelina jolie. snow and skateboard features appear next to detailed articles about trainers, industrial diggers and plastic figures from hong kong. marok’s analogue graphic style made the magazine known. nowadays it is also popular in england and japan. art director marok publishes design books with magma art house publishers. lodown designer skism and music editor hesse run skater label am:pm. am:pm produces practical skate jeans, hats and tops which can also be worn for going out or to school. hidden directly behind friedrichstrasse lies marok & co's second home. the f.u.n club is a former stasi-disco where different lodown staff play records and hang out every week. at the weekend international dj’s or lodown freelancer and terranova producer kaos rock the place.
