since 1996, dj feed and stoffel have been organising berlins first drum & bass parties in old warehouses. since that time, they got the likes of goldie, grooverider, j majik, bailey, kemistry & storm to play at their hard:edged night - together with the local talent base dee, bleed, most wanted, xplorer, defiant, white mc and resident dj metro (pictured). in 2001, stoffel and metro got a steady gig at the watergate club. the minimalist style club is situated at the spree in kreuzberg. metro makes sure that the music is not just hardcore. fridays hard:edged night offers mainly soulful drum & bass, which pulls a bigger female crowd. international guest dj’s like jess james (pictured) are fridays main attraction. metro looks after the hard:edged label, which makes friends and underground producers like xplorer, deepulse, one soul and hexer accessible to a wider audience. the hard:edged revelation mode compilation presents a comprehensive overview of the berlin and german drum & bass scene. fridays and tuesdays, when the new releases are being delivered, the hard:edged dj’s meet at the new noise record store. new noise sells the best selection of drum & bass in berlin and offers a range of hip-hop and breakbeat sounds as well.
