the cite des sciences museum is the largest science museum in france. the 30,000 square metre building is located at the border of the city in the parc de la vilette. the museum holds up to twenty permanent exhibitions about scientific achievements of new technology, biology, aerospace, human development and communication. many of the exhibits can be used interactively. visitors book fifteen minute flight lessons in the flight simulator. in the space section hobby-astronauts go inside spaceships and familiarise themselves with the living habits in space. in the visual section mona lisa’s constant smile has been changed to a bad grimace. visitors talk to the beautiful lady via microphone. the cite des sciences has a planetarium, a moving cinema screen and the legendary le geode 3d cinema which has a 1000 square metre screen. cite des sciences is open from tuesday to sunday 10.00-18.00.
